Creemos que Arte es cualquier acto a través del cual el hombre imita o expresa lo material o lo invisible y crea, copiando o imaginando. Sabemos que el Arte Pop reconceptualizó imágenes populares a través de la ironía, para enfrentarse a la cultura elitista que predominaba en el mundo de las Bellas Artes, resaltando lo kitsch y lo trivial de algunos elementos culturales. Reinterpretamos la definición de rumiar como labor de considerar despacio y pensar con reflexión.

Rumigäre es un interrogante sobre el arte como objeto de consumo. Vos, te comes que esto es Arte?

Desde el principio de los tiempos, tres amas de llaves se encuentran buscando una llave maestra.
Para dicha tarea disponen de cinco buscadores cuyo destino depende del hallazgo de la llave.
Conviven con ellos una perturbada criatura y una niña desdichada.
Restan dieciocho horas para que culmine la búsqueda.

Die Hades Fraktur

Eine Performance-Installation von SIGNA

Hotel Timp, the former location of Cologne´s most legendary transvestite show, has reopened as a secret club run by Hades and his wife Persephone. The tacky entertainment is provided by club members closely watched by the hosting couple. Everyone fears their anger, yet no one knows what goals they are really pursuing. Some claim that they aim to take over the world. Only a limited number of visitors are allowed into the club every night. These are enrolled in mysterious games and an unusual prize awaits the winners: They must bring with them out of the club one of the 7 women who are kept in the rooms of the labyrinthine building. However, she is to be returned before the break of dawn.

The Complex Nord Methode

Complex North is a modern psychiatric ward specializing in the research and treatment of memory loss and dissociative disorders. The facilities are part of The State Hospital, region 706.
Due to the drastic rise in memory loss and dissociative disorders within The State - without any detectable physical cause - groups of experts are working on new therapies in all state hospitals to make these complicated conditions bearable for the many patients afflicted.
Complex North is lead by head doctor Dorine Chaikin who is assisted by three colleagues along with an international team of specially educated nurses. The clinic has a capacity of 25 patients.
Your stay at the clinic will involve a series of therapies individually adjusted to your condition. You may go through individual as well as group therapy sessions. Furthermore Complex North offers a wide range of leisure time activities.

The 11th. knife

Non-stop performance installation by the internationally acclaimed performance duo SIGNA (Signa Sørensen and Arthur Köstler) at the conference site. The central point of fiction is ‘The Game’, a complex ritual construction, which has also been part of earlier projects by SIGNA. The performance is based on improvisations around themes and constellations generated by 5 spinning wheels. This harsh satirical work deals with power structures, rituals and archetypical representations in pop-culture. This performance installation will be open 24 hours from Wednesday August 20 afternoon until Saturday August 23, midnight. Conference participants can visit the site anytime and be part of an ongoing performance.

The Black Sea Oracle Games

The Black Sea Oracle Games gives life to the fictitious story of Martha Rubin, an infamous oracle who performed on fairgrounds around Europe in the beginning of the 20th century. As an orphan of unknown origin she was taken into care by a travelling circus. Martha Rubin disappeared in the Romanian harbor city Constanza in 1913. From the years after her disappearance until this day the oracle has reoccurred in several European cities.

Her descendants have formed the Martha Rubin Society trying to understand the mystical traces that she leaves behind. In an ongoing ritual the followers of Martha Rubin put their lives in the hands of chance, playing a fatal game of ever changing identities.
During the 57 hours nonstop performance the audience can come and go as they wish and stay as long as they want to, taking part in the games and the daily life of The Martha Rubin Society.

The Dorine Chaikin Institute

Cuándo?: 17/11/07 – 1/12/07
Dónde?: Ballhaus Ost, Berlin. Este proyecto forma parte del "Nordwind Festival for Scandinavian stage art"
Duracion: 14 días – 12 horas por día. Se recomiendo a los espectadores permanecer un mínimo de 4 horas.
Sinopsis: Esta performance invita a un número reducido de espectadores a convertirse en pasientes en un instituto psiquiatrico especializado en disordenes disociativos que conducen a la interrupción o avería de la memoria. A cada espectador se le otorga una nombre nuevo al ingresar. Cada nombre tiene una historia médica dentro de los archivos del DCI. A través de varias terapias y actividades del tipo social los pasientes son alentados a recuperar la meoria, y con ella los recuerdos, de sus alter egos ficticios.

Die erscheinungen der Martha Rubin - The Ruby Town oracle

Una performance installacion non-stop en Halle Kalk, Cologne/Alemania

In 1880 a girl at around the age of 10 appeared in the German village Schwarza by the temporary camp of the Cirque Rubin. The girl never revealed her past and as no one claimed the child, she was taken into care by the circus and was given the name Martha Rubin. She became a graceful dancer and a remarkable horse rider, but it was her dark gift as an oracle that won her fame as a fairground attraction all over Europe.

Martha Rubin gave birth to 17 children out of marriage. 7 of them - including the siamese twins Marthina and Corina, she raised together with the female sword swallower Cora Torrini. In 1913 Martha Rubin disappeared without a trace from the Romanian harbor city Constanta.

Throughout the many years after her disapperrance Martha Rubin has reappeared on several European locations . A vast amount of footage and audio recordings document these occurences. In 1933 the relatives of Martha Rubin formed The Martha Rubin Society to collect and to understand the signs and traces of the oracle. In our time most of Martha Rubin´s descendants live in Ruby Town, a settlement in the borderland between the North and the South State. For more than 30 years Ruby Town has been of special interest to the North State military, not only because of the illegal trade with the South but also due to an inexplicable radiation.



In Halle Kalk, a large abandoned industrial hall, Ruby Town is built from materials normally discarded by our civilization – scrap, wrecks and garbage are the basis for the artificial European settlement which huddles in the borderland between two walls. Narrow and twisted alleys lead through the labyrinthine heart of Ruby Town to a shrine that for many years has contained the few belongings of the disappeared oracle.

Now Martha Rubin herself has come back to Ruby Town from the limbo in which she was trapped and the descendants gather around to listen to her dark visions.

The 2nd of Maj 2008 SIGNA will continue the large scale project in collaboration with Schauspiel Köln and Info at Berliner Festspiele. The audience is invited into a complete town of 22 houses (including shops, bar, restaurant and peep show) with adjoining military quarters inhabited by more than 40 performers.
